Vacation Platform Rebuilding | Lake

About This Equipment

Lake, a vacation rental marketplace, needed to replace a fragile monolithic platform with a modern, scalable system capable of supporting rapid growth and expanding property coverage. Brocoders designed and delivered a purpose-built microservices architecture with an upgraded front end, enabling property owners, managers, and travelers to navigate clear, reliable booking flows while giving Lakes operations team robust tools for management and scaling. How Brocoders Helped Achieve Business Goals Our specialists supported Lake throughout the entire process, from business-process research, requirements elicitation, and legacy-system analysis to solution architecture, development, and ongoing support. We rebuilt the monolithic back end as a modular, microservices-based platform and increased the number of connected vacation rental properties by 80x. This improved fault isolation, reduced deployment risks, and created a stronger foundation for further growth. The new solution included a feature-rich web application with a modern Next.js front end and a service-oriented Node.js back end. It centralized booking management, property synchronization, availability and pricing rules, and operational workflows in a unified admin dashboard. We also implemented geolocation functionality, marketplace flows, and performance-focused improvements to make the platform more reliable, scalable, and easier to manage. Technologies: Next.js, microservices, Node.js.
