Tizen Smart TV Streaming App

Project Description

I have a Smart TV concept that I now need turned into a production-ready Tizen application focused on one core feature: smooth, reliable streaming of on-demand video via HLS (HTTP Live Streaming).

Here’s what I already have in place: the content delivery workflow, an HLS playlist for testing, and the design direction for the on-screen experience. Your task is to turn that into a polished Tizen app that installs from a USB stick or the Samsung Seller Office, plays the HLS stream instantly, and feels native on recent Samsung TVs.

Key points you’ll tackle
• Build the app with Tizen Studio (web-based or native API—use what serves performance best).
• Implement the media player with full HLS support, including adaptive bitrate switching and basic playback controls (play/pause, seek, scrub, track loading spinner).
• Integrate my branding assets into a lightweight, remote-friendly UI that scales across 2017–2023 TV models.
• Follow Samsung’s certification requirements so the package is ready for store submission.

Deliverables
1. Source code in a Git repository with clear commit history.
2. Signed .wgt build plus instructions for sideloading and publishing.
3. One-page setup/readme covering required TV settings, tested models, and any limitations.
4. Short video (screen recording) showing the app launching and streaming the supplied HLS URL.

Acceptance will be based on flawless HLS playback, UI responsiveness to the standard remote keys, and passing the Samsung TV Validator with zero critical issues.

If you’ve shipped Tizen streaming apps before and know your way around AVPlay, WebGL overlays, or player analytics hooks, let’s talk—this project should be quick for the right developer. Show More
