Overview

Field Services Network (FSN) is an established service-management marketplace that connects clients with qualified field technicians across the U.S. Our current Laravel-based platform is fully functional, but we are now seeking a high-level Laravel expert to lead a strategic redesign focusing on improved usability, unified workflows, and modern UI/UX organization.



As the senior engineer overseeing this project internally, I am looking for an expert-level Laravel developer who can restructure the platform so that every feature and functional element is consolidated into a clean, intuitive tab-based system attached to each unique work order.



Project Goal

Redesign the FSN platform so that all existing tools, workflows, and feature sets currently scattered across the system are consolidated and displayed as accessible tabs directly within each individual work order.
This redesign will ensure that clients and contractors have an easy-to-navigate, centralized hub for every work order they manage.



Key Responsibilities

Analyze the current FSN platform architecture, models, controllers, APIs, and workflows.

Redesign the user interface and backend logic so all existing functionality is compiled into tabbed sections associated with each published work order.

Ensure seamless integration of all current platform capabilities, including (but not limited to):

Work order details, scheduling, and dispatch management

Messaging & communication tools

File uploads & photo documentation

Bidding & proposal workflows

Contractor selection & assignment tools

Status tracking & milestone updates

Invoicing, payment tracking, and client-facing financial tools

Work history, reporting, and audit logs

Modernize UI/UX for improved clarity, speed, and user friendliness.

Maintain all existing functionality while improving structure, layout, and accessibility.

Adhere to best practices for security, performance, and scalability.

Collaborate with our internal team for testing, iteration, and refinement.



Required Skills & Experience

7+ years of advanced Laravel development experience

Strong background in full-stack Laravel applications, including Blade, Livewire or Vue (or similar), Eloquent ORM, queue systems, and API integrations

Demonstrated experience restructuring or refactoring large Laravel systems

Solid UI/UX intuition and experience implementing tab-based or modular UI frameworks

Strong database architecture skills (MySQL/MariaDB)

Deep understanding of application security and performance optimization

Ability to work independently with minimal guidance, while maintaining clear communication

Experience working with service/contractor marketplace platforms is a major plus
