Cross-Platform Thin Client Manager
Project Description
I need a complete management solution, similar in spirit to openthinclient, that lets me control Desktops, Laptops and dedicated Thin Clients from a single, web-based console. The core features I expect are device inventory with granular status reporting, user account administration tied to our directory service, plus remote software installation and update workflows that run smoothly under both Windows and Linux endpoints.
A clean, modular architecture is important to me—I want agents or services that stay lightweight on the client side and a server component I can host on-premise (Debian or Ubuntu preferred). The UI should feel modern, ideally using a common front-end framework so future tweaks are easy. Role-based access, audit logs and an API for integrating with existing tooling will round out the project.
Deliverables
• Source code with build instructions
• An installable server package or Docker compose file
• Windows and Linux client agents that auto-register to the server
• Admin guide and quick-start user manual
