Project Title

DealerPro – Web-Based Dealer Profit & Stock Intelligence Platform

Project Overview

I am looking for an experienced developer or small team to build DealerPro, a web-based SaaS platform for car dealerships.

The purpose of DealerPro is not to replace AutoTrader or dealer management systems.
Instead, it acts as a financial intelligence and decision-support layer that sits on top of existing dealer stock data.

In simple terms:
DealerPro tells dealers which cars make money, which lose money, and how to price and market stock to maximise profit.

This is a B2B SaaS product with monthly subscriptions per dealership.

Core Concept (Plain English)

Dealers already list cars on platforms like AutoTrader

DealerPro imports their stock automatically (via feed, CSV, or scraping where permitted)

Dealer inputs their real costs (purchase price, prep, ads, finance, overheads)

DealerPro calculates:

True cost per vehicle

Real profit per vehicle

ROI and days-to-sell insights

The system then recommends actions:

Increase price

Reduce price

Push marketing

Remove or trade stock

This must be simple, fast, and visually clear, even for non-technical dealers.

User Roles
1. Super Admin (Platform Owner)

Manage all dealerships

View platform-wide analytics

Control pricing plans

Manage permissions

System settings

2. Dealer Admin

Owns a dealership account

Manages users inside dealership

Sees full financial data

Controls cost assumptions

3. Dealer Staff (Optional)

Limited access

View stock performance only

No cost editing permissions

Key Functional Requirements
1. Dealership & User Management

Sign-up / login system

Each user belongs to one dealership

2. Vehicle Stock Import (Critical)

The platform must support at least one of the following initially (more later):

CSV upload (AutoTrader export format)

Scheduled CSV sync

Feed ingestion

Manual vehicle entry (fallback)

Imported vehicle data should include:

Mileage

Fuel type

Advertised price

Platform listed on (e.g. AutoTrader)

3. Cost Engine (Core Logic)

For each vehicle, DealerPro must calculate true cost using editable inputs:

Per-vehicle costs

Purchase price

Transport

Prep / repairs

Valeting

Warranty

Finance cost (days in stock based)

Advertising cost (daily or fixed)

Dealership overheads

Rent

Staff wages

Utilities

Insurance

Other fixed costs

Overheads should be:

Entered once

Automatically apportioned across vehicles

All formulas must be editable by admin.

4. Profit & ROI Calculations

For every vehicle:

Gross margin

Net profit

ROI %

Cost per day

Days in stock

Break-even day

Profit erosion over time

These calculations should update live when:

Price changes

Time passes

Costs are edited

5. Dealer Dashboard (Most Important UI)

The main dashboard must show:

Total stock count

Total capital tied up

Total unrealised profit

Average days in stock

Vehicles in loss

Vehicles near loss

Vehicles performing well

Include clear colour coding:

Green = healthy profit

Amber = warning

Red = loss-making

6. Vehicle-Level Insights

Each vehicle must have its own detail page showing:

Cost breakdown

Profit over time chart

Days-to-sell benchmark

Market comparison (basic v1)

Recommended action:

Hold

Reduce price

Increase exposure

Exit stock

7. Smart Recommendations (Rule-Based v1)

DealerPro must automatically flag:

Vehicles in loss

Vehicles approaching loss

Vehicles priced too high for days-in-stock

Vehicles performing better than average

This does not need AI initially — rule-based logic is fine.

8. Scenarios & “What-If” Tool

Dealers should be able to:

Adjust price

Adjust days to sell

Adjust costs

And instantly see:

New profit

New ROI

New break-even point

This is a key selling feature.

9. Reports & Exports

Downloadable reports (CSV / PDF)
