Real-Time Web App with Live Updates

Project Description

I’m building a custom web application whose core purpose is, quite simply, to exist as a fully fledged web app rather than a bolt-on e-commerce store or CMS. The heartbeat of the project is real-time interaction—specifically live updates that push fresh data to every connected user the instant it changes (think stock tickers, collaborative dashboards, or multiplayer boards).

Here’s what I need from you:

• Craft both the front-end and the back-end so that users see changes appear instantly without refreshing the page.
• Use WebSockets (Socket.io, SignalR, or an equivalent you prefer) to broadcast data events reliably at scale.
• Develop a clean, responsive interface—React or Vue is great, but I’m open to alternatives if you have a strong case.
• Build a concise API layer that feeds those live updates, with sensible models, validation, and secure authentication baked in.
• Hand over well-commented code plus a short README explaining how to install, run, and deploy the app.

Acceptance criteria
1. Any update performed by one user becomes visible to all connected users in under one second on a typical broadband connection.
2. No page reloads are required.
3. Source code runs locally with a single command and deploys to a standard cloud host (Heroku, Vercel, AWS, etc.) without extra tweaking.

If this sounds like your kind of challenge, let’s talk through your preferred stack and timeline so we can get started right away. Show More
