Cabal Online Server Recreation

Project Description

I want to bring the classic Cabal Online experience back to life on a private server that mirrors the official game, then gradually fine-tune it to suit a modern audience. The core objective is faithful recreation first; from there I’ll tweak character abilities, adjust overall game-progression flow, and rebalance the in-game economy so it stays engaging long-term.

Technical direction
• Base version: I’d like the build to run on Episode 33 or 35, treating that as a specific past update.
• Your work should cover full server deployment (database, authentication, channel servers, web registration, patcher), initial content verification, and useful GM/admin tools so I can manage drops, events, and player accounts without diving into the code each time.
• Source compilation, bug fixes, and anti-cheat implementation are expected parts of the setup. Please document any scripts or config changes clearly so I can reproduce the environment or migrate it in future.

Deliverables
1. Fully functional Episode 33/35 private server accessible to outside testers.
2. Config files or control panel entries that let me easily tweak:
– Character stats
– EXP/drop rates, quest chains, and dungeon entries (game progression)
– Shop prices, drop tables, and currency sinks (in-game economy)
3. Step-by-step installation and maintenance guide.
4. Short stress-test report confirming stability with at least 100 simultaneous connections.

Acceptance criteria
• Clean client connects without errors, all major dungeons/quests complete as on retail.
• Admin commands work and reflect the above customisation points.
• No critical memory leaks or crash loops during a 24-hour continuous run.
