Senior Salesforce CPQ Lead Developer | Remote | Contract Role

Project Description

I’m kicking off an enterprise-scale Salesforce CPQ programme and need a developer-lead with at least 8 years of hands-on experience who can overlap fully with the IST working day.

The core of the work centres on Salesforce CPQ and Sales Cloud, with particular emphasis on:

• Renewals and amendments that must flow cleanly through large, multi-year quotes
• Complex pricing models that push CPQ calculation performance to its limits
• Tight integration with ERP and billing platforms (the current back-office is an ERP stack we’re modernising)

You’ll own end-to-end design, build and stabilisation. That includes explaining every architectural choice, optimising quote performance, and mentoring the rest of the CPQ squad.

AI enablement is another key track. I already have guardrails in place and now need you to extend them with robust validation layers, detailed audit logging, and well-defined fallback mechanisms. Part of your day will be spent reviewing AI-generated code or configuration, spotting weaknesses, and proposing cleaner logic.

Integration work will involve Apex, Lightning, REST/SOAP APIs, and whichever middleware you favour for ERP hand-offs—feel free to propose MuleSoft, Boomi, or native Platform Events if they fit the scenario.

Deliverables expected:
1. A production-ready CPQ package covering pricing, renewals, and amendments for high-volume quoting.
2. Documented integration flows that sync product, pricing, order, and invoice data with the ERP.
3. AI governance layer (validation, logging, fallback) committed to the repo with clear setup notes.
4. Technical design document and playback session outlining decisions, trade-offs, and next-step recommendations.

Success is measured by quote run-time, data integrity across systems, and a zero-defect promotion to production.

If leading a complex CPQ landscape while pushing responsible-AI boundaries sounds like your wheelhouse, I’d like to get you started immediately. Show More
