I’m kicking off the full build of a live-event streaming and VOD website and need someone who can handle every layer—from the API ingestion right through to the playback page.
The first milestone is to analyse a third-party site’s API, reverse-engineer the data flow, and pull only what we need for our catalogue and event schedule. Once that data pipeline is solid, you’ll wire it into a low-latency delivery stack built around HLS, RTMP and WebRTC (use whichever protocol best serves each device class; I’m open as long as the final viewer latency stays minimal).
Key objectives
• Decode the external API, authenticate if required, and transform responses into a format our player understands.
• Stand up the core streaming infrastructure using FFmpeg and whichever media server you favour (Nginx-RTMP, Wowza, Ant Media, etc.) while keeping it cloud-agnostic.
• Build a user system with registration, login and profile management, plus an admin panel where I can create events, upload VOD assets and trigger streams.
• Deliver responsive playback pages that switch seamlessly between live and recorded content.
• Optimise for stability under load; smooth, uninterrupted playback is non-negotiable.
I’ll review your previous streaming work, especially projects that show low-latency performance, custom API integrations or end-to-end builds you’ve completed solo. Include links, Git repos or demo logins so I can see them in action.
Once we agree on scope, we’ll break the job into clear milestones (API integration, streaming core, user/admin modules, front-end polish, final load test) and move quickly. Let me know your availability and estimated timeline so we can get started.
