Python Intranet Extraction & Upgrade

Project Description

I need to mirror our entire Python-based intranet that is still sitting on its original host, then refactor it with the help of Claude or Codex so it is easier to maintain and extend. The work starts with programmatically harvesting every layer of the running site—pages, APIs, and any hidden endpoints—and reconstructing the full stack in a local sandbox. Once everything is safely pulled down, the goal is to modernise the codebase and introduce AI-assisted capabilities while keeping day-to-day use strictly internal to our staff.

Your first milestone will be a clean, verifiable extraction of:

• Source code
• Backend database
• System configurations

After that, I’ll lean on your Python expertise (BeautifulSoup, Requests, Selenium or similar) plus direct shell access techniques to organise the recovered assets, document the architecture and prep it for the upgrade phase. Familiarity with git, virtual environments, Docker, and prompt-engineering for Claude/Codex will make the transition smoother.

Success is measured by a fully functional local clone that matches production behaviour, a clearly commented and version-controlled codebase, and an upgrade plan outlining how the new AI components will slot in without disrupting current workflows.

Confidentiality is essential, and I’m happy to supply staging credentials as soon as we agree on a short kickoff call and timeline. If you thrive on deep dives into legacy Python systems and enjoy pairing that work with cutting-edge LLM tooling, this should be a straightforward, rewarding engagement. Show More
