Our current site is showing its age and no longer inspires visitors to participate. I want to replace it with a fresh, modern design that makes it effortless for neighbors to see what’s happening with the LCA.
Core purpose:
The site’s main job is to engage the local community in ongoing issues about development pressure. Every page should encourage interaction—whether that’s reading community updates, adding an event to a personal calendar, or donating—while still being welcoming to first-time visitors.
Key content & features:
• Community news and updates presented in an easy-to-scan feed, sortable by topic or date
• An event calendar with simple sign-up/RSVP functionality (email confirmations and automatic reminders are a plus)
• Fully responsive layout so the site looks great on phones, tablets, and desktops
• Clear navigation, accessible color palette, and fast load times to keep users on the page
• An admin dashboard that lets our small team post articles and events without touching code
• Tabs for About Us, Mission Statement, Community Update/Newsletter, LCA in the News
• A section for documents
• Donation QR code integration
• Integration of call or letter-writing campaign links created on Action Network
Style direction:
I prefer a clean, contemporary aesthetic—think generous white space, readable typography, and subtle animation rather than anything overly ornate or “classic.”
Deliverables:
1. High-fidelity mock-up or prototype for approval
2. Complete, live website (deployed or packaged for easy deployment)
3. Basic documentation or short video walkthrough showing how to update content
Tech stack is flexible; WordPress, Webflow, or a lightweight custom build are all on the table as long as updates remain simple.
Acceptance criteria:
• All listed features function smoothly across modern browsers
• Page speed scores stay in the green on Google Lighthouse
• Admin area tested with a non-technical team member and confirmed intuitive
