Project Description
I’m ready to launch a fresh Android-only marketplace where users can trade both physical and digital items from a single, intuitive mobile experience. The core of the first release is solid user profiles that let sellers manage listings and buyers track favourite items, messages, and purchase history.
Here’s the flow I have in mind: a new user signs up, creates a profile, and can immediately post an item with photos (or upload a digital file), set a price, and choose basic shipping or direct download. Other users browse, filter by category or keyword, open the seller’s profile for credibility, and then move forward with the transaction. For now, payment handling will be kept minimal; we can discuss whether to start with a simple cash-on-delivery or voucher code approach, and leave full payment-gateway integration for phase two.
You would own:
• Designing and building the native Android app in Kotlin or Java
• Implementing secure sign-up / log-in and profile management
• Creating the item listing, search, and category views for both physical and digital goods
• Setting up a lightweight backend or Firebase instance to store user data, images, and files
• Delivering clean, well-commented source code and an APK ready for Play Store submission
Once this foundation is in place, I plan to add payments and a review system, so clean architecture and modular code are important. Let me know your preferred tech stack, any similar apps you’ve shipped, and a realistic timeline for an MVP that covers the features above.
