I need a clean, professional-looking website for my Business & Professional Services firm built on WordPress (or a comparable, easy-to-maintain CMS).
1. Project Overview
ReedKnapp is a boutique research and advisory firm serving mid-market leaders across Strategy & Transformation, AI, and Sustainability. We need to update our existing website. A complete design and content mockup for the new website has been developed and approved. The task is to take this approved design and content, and build a production-ready, mobile-responsive website deployed on the client's existing hosting (Webcentral, Australia).
An HTML file has been created and is the definitive design and content specification. It should be treated as the source of truth for layout, copy, colour palette, typography, and section structure. It is a single-page static mockup — the developer's job is to turn this into a real, working multi-page website.
2. What will be provided
• A complete HTML/CSS mockup covering all sections: Hero, Services (overview + 3 detail sections), Case Studies, Insights, About (Principles, How We Work, Team), and Footer.
• Final approved copy for all sections, including case studies per service line (Strategy & Transformation, AI, Sustainability).
• Brand logo files (Rk² mark) — both JPG and PNG versions will be provided.
• Defined colour palette (navy / gold / cloud), typography (Cormorant Garamond + DM Sans via Google Fonts), and component styling (cards, tiles, nav, footer).
4. Key Decisions for the Developer to Confirm with the Client
Operations of "Insights" links and uploading
Confirm what Webcentral hosting plan the client has and if it is appropriate for the new website.
5. Scope of Work
Core build
• Rebuild the approved design as a production site
• Implement all sections as designed: Hero, Services (overview + 3 detail pages/sections), Case Studies, Insights (3-track layout), About (Principles, How We Work, Team), Footer.
• Replace placeholder logo references with properly hosted, optimised logo assets (transparent background once available).
• Ensure full mobile responsiveness — test on common breakpoints (mobile, tablet, desktop).
• Cross-browser testing (Chrome, Safari, Edge, Firefox) and cross-device testing (iOS, Android).
5.2 Functionality
• Working "Book a 20-minute call" CTA — integrate with the client's chosen booking tool
• Working contact links (email, any social links added to footer).
• Basic on-page SEO: page titles, meta descriptions, header tag hierarchy (H1/H2/H3), image alt text, favicon, and a sitemap.xml.
• Google Analytics (or similar) integration if requested by the client.
5.3 Content population
• Insert final team bios and photos once supplied.
• Insert real Insights articles for initial launch (client to confirm how many articles needed at launch vs. added post-launch).
• Set up a simple, repeatable structure/template for adding new Insights articles and case studies post-launch — ideally enabling the client to manage this directly if on a CMS, or supplying clear instructions if static HTML.
Key functionality
• A prominent contact form that funnels enquiries straight to our inbox
• An “Insights” area where I can upload or link to global thought-leadership pieces alongside locally produced one-pagers – all managed through standard WordPress post types so I’m able to add text-based articles myself without touching code
Look & feel
I have brand colours, fonts and imagery ready, so you’ll mainly be adjusting the theme settings, adding a few CSS tweaks, and ensuring everything is laid out clearly and consistently.
What I’ll see as a finished product
1. Fully configured, secure WordPress site on my hosting
2. Customised theme matching our brand guidelines
3. Contact form tested and working
4. Insights section set up with sample posts that I can replicate
5. Brief hand-off session (video call or concise PDF) showing me how to add future text and articles
If you have solid experience in WordPress theme customisation, a good eye for design, and can deliver a straightforward editing experience for a non-technical user, let’s talk.
